Before we embark on the title above I will like my readers to know more about what politics really means. 

What is Politics?: according to the dictionary, Politics is the art or science of government or governing, especially the governing of a political entity, such as a nation, and the administration and control of its internal and external affairs.

We can also say that politics is the activities or affairs engaged in by a government, politician, or political party.

It is also very important to know who is a politician: A politician is a person who campaigns for or holds a position in government. A politician may start a career by running for a local office, like mayor, but could eventually serve nationally — in Congress or even as President.

According to the definition, who is a politician? I believe we can now understand that a politician is a Person and not a particular set of people. The definition never state that only those above 60 can play politics or be a politician as it has always been practiced in some countries especially Nigeria.

Where have the youths got it wrong.

Most of the youths today especially in Nigeria are too busy with things of lost than gain. According to my findings, the youths themselves are more of a political thieves than those elders who have ruled before and still stuck in our political arena for their own personal reasons.

Nigerian youths are the best in terms of creativity. Very talented and vision oriented but they are completely ignorant of Nation building and politics. Though few youths understands the importance/ benefit and danger that is attached to politics, but their greatest weakness over the years according to findings are funds and support from fellow youths, not been able to face their fears and intimidation from the old politicians. Not knowing that the best way to overcome ones fears is to face them.

The youths have completely got it wrong by not knowing their rights, or by not believing in themselves whereby giving the same set of old politicians a comfortable room to outsmart them.

Who are the political thugs today? The youths.

Who are the people who snatches ballot boxes? The youths.

Yet those who decides the numbers of votes are the youths, so what is really wrong with the youths of my country?.

Go to the night clubs every friday and see how our youths waste their precious time dancing and drinking rum while the same old men sat at the corner of their bedroom to strategies on how to continue sitting on the sits meant for the youths and continually dictating the future that they will definitely not be part of.

Maybe the youths of my country still believe they are the leaders of tomorrow. If that be true, when will the tomorrow come?

I remember those old days, the people who always contest during counselorship elections were the youths but when they are elected into office, what they can always  boast of after their tenure is a car/jeep and a 4 bedroom flat while the local government which they represent remain underdeveloped. An everlasting failure? Or what do we call it?

In a normal sense youths are with fresh ideas going by the direction which the world is moving today but they are never available to actually represent themselves politically, especially in our country Nigeria where the senators couldn't even upload their pictures on facebook. We never heard that facebook is offering to teach the senators of other african countries on how to use its applications, why in Nigeria? Its shows that this old people really need to make way for the fresh minds to take over the affairs of this Nation if this great country must move forward cos the last time I checked, even a 10year old boy can even upload pictures, comment and chat with his friends on Facebook. Are we really heading forward or backwards?

Sometimes I don't blame this old politicians, I blame the youths for the continuous domination of this set of politicians and rulers. I blame them cos their interest is above working hard but spending money and living large. We now have a large numbers of yahoo yahoo and ritualist amongst our youths. Those without vision or mission yet hoping to drive big cars and bed flashy girls. They will rather collect money/bribe from the old politicians than contest against them, they have refused to face any challenges no matter how small. Sometimes I blame our parents who have failed in their duties to direct our youths. Most time parents themselves can't even set a good example. When a parent can easily make their children lie to cover up for their failures and at the end the kids will continue in that trend. How can we get anywhere that way? I believe that parents themselves really have a big role to play if things must change in our dear country cos what u give is what u get.

When you travel to countries like United kingdom or United States of America, you will realize that most solid positions be it in the ministries or the military, the Nigerian youths are there making themselves proud? Or do we say making our country Nigeria proud? So should we then say that the youths born and bread in Nigeria can not make their country proud? Where have we the youths got it wrong?

Will it be a Bad idea if the youths can form a political party and support/sponsor another youth for any election? Will it not be a good idea if they can shun those elders who keep using them before elections and dumping them with guns after elections? Will it be a bad idea if the youths can fully represent themselves in every elections and quit making themselves available as political thugs? When shall the youths unit against the same old politicians that has been ruling our grandfathers till date?
